Two men charged with separate domestic violence crimes

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A North Carolina man and an Alabama man have been separately indicted on domestic violence-related charges.

Philip Henry Houk, 33, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was charged with attempted kidnapping and interstate violation of a protective order. According to the indictment, Houk traveled from North Carolina to Jefferson County in June 2024 to enter the victims’ home and kidnap them. This happened after the Jefferson County Circuit Court issued a protective order against Houk in March 2024, to protect one of the victims from violence, threats, and harassment by Houk.

David Holcomb, 49, of Albertville, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence.

The ATF investigated each case.
