West Virginia Honey Festival at Parkersburg Municipal Park

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Several beekeepers and craft vendors will be coming to the annual Honey Festival held at Parkersburg City Park this weekend on August 24.

Bill Vincent, Wood County Recreation Director, said the festival is a great time to spend with friends and family.

“It’s just a good time,” Vincent said. “It’s a festive atmosphere, a great day to relax and be with family and friends. It’s a lot of fun.”

Penny Simonton, a queen bee at the festival, said the festival is also a good time to educate people about bees.

“Being able to educate people and enable them to purchase good products from all of our suppliers makes it a fantastic time,” Simonton said.

The festival is welcome for all ages as it is open in the park from 10 to 5.
