Video: Passengers thrown into the air after a van collides with a bus in Cheyyar, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu

At least 20 people were injured after a Chennai-bound van collided with a bus near the town of Cheyyar in Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The incident captured on CCTV showed at least two passengers being thrown out of the van as a result of the collision.

While the injured were being shifted to a local government hospital, the driver of the van died. Five seriously injured passengers were admitted to the Kancheepuram Government Hospital.

Meanwhile, Brahmadesam police registered a case and recovered CCTV footage of the accident.

The footage shows the bus, on its way to Cheyyar, trying to avoid a tractor. Seeing this, the driver of the truck tried to move his vehicle to the opposite side, but crashed into the bus.
