Here’s how test scores for students in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District compare to their peers at private schools that receive state vouchers.

Grade 3-8

For private school students who received vouchers and lived within the boundaries of the South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District during the 2022-2023 school year, 77 students in grades 3-8 took English language arts and math tests; 26 students took science tests, which are required in fifth and eighth grades. Private schools can administer Ohio state tests or more than three dozen alternative assessments.

In the South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District and all public schools, all students are required to take the test. District enrollment was 3,271. The following were the district’s proficiency averages in grades 3-8 on the Ohio State Tests, with science tests administered only in grades 5 and 8:

That year, among private high school students, 58 voucher recipients living in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst City School District took English language arts tests; 74 took math tests; 34 took science tests; 56 took social studies tests. The tests could be end-of-year tests, Ohio state tests, or more than three dozen alternative assessments.
