Key facts you need to know about Battle at the Beach 2024 football

The three-day event, which marks the start of the season in New Jersey, began in 2021 and has quickly become one of the biggest events of the high school sports year. It’s a chance for fans to see many of the best teams in South Jersey and the state in one day.

This year’s event features 14 games and six teams ranked in The Press Preseason Elite 11: No. 1 Millville; No. 2 Winslow Township; No. 3 Mainland Regional; No. 6 Holy Spirit; No. 7 Washington Township; and No. 11 Cedar Creek.

Four games will be played at Carey Stadium on Thursday. Friday and Saturday games (five each day) will be played at Egg Harbor Township High School because Ocean City traditionally hosts Philadelphia Catholic League games over Labor Day weekend. In previous years, Carey Stadium was the site of all games.

Tickets for each day can be purchased at gofan.co. The cost for each day’s matches is $12 plus a $1.60 service fee per ticket.

Once the event begins, tickets will be $15 online and at the door. The cost for seniors 60 and older will be $10 at the door. Children 10 and younger will be admitted free.

This year’s event should again attract national attention. Thursday’s 7 p.m. game will pit Bergen Catholic against IMG Academy. Bergen Catholic is the reigning Non-Public A state champion. IMG is a national powerhouse. Earlier this year, legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick suggested he was interested in attending.
