StreetFair, the new app and website known for its “recommendations so good your neighbor probably gave them to you,” allows users to recommend and discover trusted local businesses within neighborhoods across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

StreetFair, co-founded by Teddy Fitzgibbons and Mike Kerr, was created to give neighbors an easier way to find and recommend the best local businesses in their community. Unlike other home services sites or referral groups, StreetFair does not allow paid listings or recommendations. It relies entirely on recommendations within the neighborhood.

“StreetFair is an online platform,” said General Manager Sarah Brown. “It’s also a mobile app and a free resource that allows residents to join their neighborhood to share authentic recommendations. The app connects homeowners with neighborhood favorites in home maintenance, cutting through the noise of platforms like Nextdoor or Facebook groups. You can easily find home maintenance providers your neighbors use and trust.”

How it works

StreetFair is free and easy to join and navigate. Its recommendations are based on businesses that locals have used and reviewed, ensuring that users receive only the highest quality service.

The steps:

  1. Join your neighborhood: It’s fast, easy and free.
  2. Browse by service: Explore a curated list of top local professionals your neighbors trust.
  3. Book Services: Schedule or join services already planned in your neighborhood and get group discounts.

“You can create an account with your email and password, and then join your neighborhood,” Brown said. “If your neighborhood isn’t active yet, since there are hundreds of neighborhoods in the area, the first resident can launch it. You can then invite your neighbors and start building your community.”

Super services

StreetFair offers a variety of home maintenance services including tree services, gutter cleaning, window washing, pressure washing, painting, appliance repair, wallpaper removal, holiday light installation and more.

The app is currently available for neighborhoods in Collin, Denton and Dallas counties, with plans to expand to more areas soon.

Vetted and trusted companies

All StreetFair businesses go through a thorough vetting process before being added to the platform. This includes checking recommendations, verifying their previous work history in the neighborhood, and completing a personal interview.

“All businesses that owners recommend to StreetFair are vetted before they are added to the platform,” Brown said. “We want our users to know that there is a difference between any vendor and a StreetFair vendor. These are not our vendors, these are the best of their vendors. Their neighbors recommended them.”
