See the decorated bedroom of Ava, the daughter of the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs

Tavia Hunt, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs CEO and co-owner Clark Hunt, showed off her daughter’s decorated bedroom.

In an Instagram post on August 23, Tavia Hunt shared a series of photos of her youngest daughter Ava Hunt’s dorm room at Southern Methodist University, which received a massive makeover.

The complete room makeover included a dresser with mirrored drawers, pink floral bedding and matching tufted stools, pink neon signs with her name above the bed, and other pink elements and decorations.

Accompanying the photos of her daughter’s beautiful bedroom, Tavia Hunt wrote a heartfelt note in the caption reflecting on the moment of dropping her youngest daughter off at college.

She and Clark Hunt also share a daughter, Gracie Hunt, 25, and a son, Knobel Hunt, 22.

“Today I left a piece of my heart at SMU,” the mother of three wrote in the caption. “Ava Hunt, you have always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane: fierce, fearless, and capable of amazing things. I am overflowing with emotion for you, even as I save my tears for later.”

Tavia Hunt shared the emotions of not having her daughter home anymore, writing that “the house is too quiet” without her laughter and the scent of her favorite perfume.

“I know you will be back often and that this marks a new adventure and freedom for both of us… however, I whisper fervent prayers for your safety, wisdom and for a tribe of new sisters who love Jesus and love you,” she added. “May God bless you and keep you. He has never failed me and He will not fail you.”

Tavia Hunt expressed her excitement for her daughter to have new experiences and learn new lessons as she embarks on her college experience, adding, “Watching you shine and grow into the most beautiful version of yourself makes my heart beat a little bit happier.”

“You worked so hard to get here,” she wrote. “Everything you do from now on is for you: for your success, your happiness, and the glory of God.”

Tavia Hunt ended her message with a touching sentiment, sharing advice and a note for her daughter: “Take care of yourself. Sleep. Have faith in yourself. And remember, Mom and Dad are ALWAYS here when you need us.”

Tavia Hunt’s post struck a chord with other parents, both because of the emotional moment of dropping off a child at college and because of the stunning dorm room decor.

“I love all the decor! I missed all this with 3 kids!” wrote one commenter on Instagram. “I just moved my son into his room 2 weeks ago and I was lucky he let me buy him a cute duvet!”

Another Instagram user said it was the “best shared room” they’d ever seen, before adding: “I love it guys! Congrats Ava, have a blast and call your mom… a lot.”

“I can’t imagine leaving my baby at college!” wrote one commenter, before adding: “Your decor is so cute!!!!!”

One user wrote: “Possibly the cutest bedroom ever!”

“Fabulous ladies in the room,” wrote another commenter. “Tough times for parents in kindergarten and college.”

Even Ava Hunt chimed in on her mom’s post, writing in the comments: “I’m not crying, you are.”
