Killeen police investigate 14th murder in the city of Killeen

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) – The Killeen Police Department is investigating a murder that took place Sunday morning.

KPD says that on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 4:33 a.m., Killeen Police Officers responded to the 2300 block of Andover Drive in reference to a shots fired call. While en route, dispatchers advised them of a crash that occurred in the 1000 block of Westover Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious female victim inside a crashed vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Nicola James at 5:04am. She ordered a post-mortem to be carried out at the South West Institute of Forensic Science.

The victim’s name is being withheld until his next of kin have been notified.

There is no threat to the community related to this incident.
