More than 340 people were evacuated from the Kursk region over the past day, says the Ministry of Emergency Situations – Emergencies

MOSCOW, Aug 25. /TASS/. More than 340 people have been evacuated to safer places over the past 24 hours from five districts of Russia’s Kursk region bordering Ukraine, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said.

“Over the past 24 hours, more than 340 people have been evacuated or left settlements in five border districts on their own,” the ministry’s press service told TASS.

According to the Ministry, 197 temporary accommodation centres operate in 28 Russian regions, housing more than 11,500 people, including more than 3,500 children.

“Over 100 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the region during the day and are being distributed to the population in temporary shelters. In total, over 3,000 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the Kursk region during the period of emergency,” the ministry added.
