ST MARY, Jamaica—The police officer who was reportedly seen in a viral video physically assaulting a woman has been granted bail of $300,000 with two sureties.

The judge ruled this when he appeared before St Mary Parish Court on Thursday 22 August.

The officer’s bail conditions include reporting to the Annotto Bay police station every Saturday between 6am and 6pm and surrendering his travel documents.

An order was also given to stop at all ports.

The police officer will return to St Mary’s Parish Court on September 4.

Police sources have confirmed that the officer seen in the video is from St Mary’s Police.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, August 20. The officer was reportedly at his Enfield home with his pregnant girlfriend when his ex-girlfriend walked into the yard, sparking an argument between the three.

The officer allegedly attempted to remove the woman from his property, resulting in a physical altercation.
