America’s No. 1 running back Harlem Berry represents LSU during his senior season

Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s Episcopal running back Harlem Berry ranks as the No. 1 running back in the country heading into his final season of prep football.

The top-ranked running back in the 2025 cycle revealed a commitment to Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers in January after making his decision public.

Berry, the highest-rated running back in Louisiana since Leonard Fournette, was claimed by the Bayou Bengals to keep him in the Bayou State for college.

Now, he’s set to play his final high school season before signing in December during the Early Signing Period, where he’ll make things official with the Tigers.

But Berry will represent LSU this fall with the St. Martin’s Episcopal Saints.

America’s No. 1 running back will wear a pair of custom LSU cleats this fall when he takes the field for his final race with his high school program.

Berry is connected to the Tigers. It’s where he wants to play in college and he’s been vocal about his decision after committing to the program.

Instead of entertaining other schools, Berry has redoubled his commitment to Kelly and the Bayou Bengals.

“I think when I make a decision, I make it. I felt like the best decision was to go to LSU. I didn’t want to take any more visits. I saw what I wanted to see and that was it,” Berry said.

He’s shown his talent in the backfield, but what are his goals for his senior campaign? Berry wants to become a more complete runner and grow as a receiving threat.

“This offseason I’ve been working on receiving stuff, working on the slot. I just went out there and showed myself. I put my talents on preview. Ultimately, I may have shut some people up,” Berry said.

Now, he’s full steam ahead in his final season of high school football before getting down to business and enrolling early at LSU in January.
