Two WNC high school students killed in weekend crash, Transylvania County Schools say

Two Rosman High School students were killed over the weekend in a car accident, according to a Transylvania County Schools news release sent out Aug. 25.

“It is with great sadness that we share the tragic news of the loss of two of our beloved Rosman High School students in a devastating accident,” the statement said. “Our community has been struck by an unimaginable loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these extraordinary young people.”

Transylvania County Schools said it has established counseling services for students and staff at Rosman.

“The loss of such young and vibrant lives is a stark reminder of how precious life is and how deeply connected we all are,” the statement said. “As we process this tragedy, we encourage everyone to lean on one another for support and comfort.”

Many other high schools across Western North Carolina sent messages of support and condolences via social media on Sunday.

The Hendersonville Times-News has reached out to family members and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, which has not confirmed details of the crash or the names of the victims.
