Oklahoma continues to work on the class of 2025 after Michael Fasusi’s promise

This past week has been a big one for Oklahoma when it comes to recruiting.

The Sooners added a commitment from Michael Fasusione of the best players in the country to what was already a very solid group of prospects, reinforcing OU in the trenches.

In addition to bringing in the standout player from Lewisville (TX), Brent Venables and the company also offered two high school prospects this week, including one in the 2025 recruiting class.

As the early signing period approaches for the 2025 cycle, the recruiting process will continue to heat up for OU.

On Wednesday, the 5-star offensive lineman from Lewisville (TX) Michael Fasusi announced his commitment to Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle chose the Sooners over Texas and Texas A&M, giving him Bill Bedenbaugh A nice win on the recruiting trail over two SEC opponents.

Ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect and No. 2 offensive tackle in the country, according to Rivals, Fasusi also becomes the highest-rated prospect Bedenbaugh has ever landed a commitment from.

The coveted prospect announced his decision on the fifth anniversary of his family’s move to the United States from Nigeria, which coincidentally is the same date as Bedenbaugh’s birthday.

With remarkable agility and power for a player of his size, Fasusi is an elite prospect who could develop into a first-round talent under the renowned offensive line coach. Fasusi even cited Bedenbaugh’s track record in developing offensive line players as one of the main factors in his decision.

“So, my deciding factor was development,” Fasusi said. “Who develops the best offensive linemen? Coach B. Who puts out the most offensive linemen in the NFL? Coach B… To make it even better, he’s a great person, he’s a very humble guy. You see the numbers that are put out there, he’s never going to talk about it… He still wants to get better every day, that’s what he’s going to do for me… I said this before, it’s not going to hurt me to be with the best offensive line coach in the country. I agree with that.”

In Norman, Fasusi will join former 4-star recruit and Lewisville (TX) safety Jaydan Hardy as well as his current teammate in Fighting Farmers Sean Huttonwho has committed as a non-scholarship player in the class of 2025.

Bedenbaugh now has commitments to Fasusi, a 4-star tackle and top-100 prospect Ryan FodjeSkyridge 4 star base (UT) Dario Afalava and 3 star center Melissa (TX) Owen Hollenbeck in the current cycle.

Despite the early signing period being less than four months away, the Sooners still extended an offer to a Class of 2025 prospect this week.

On Thursday, OU extended an offer to the 3-star defensive back from Rock Hill (TX) Jayden Bradley.

Bradley is a good athlete who has the ideal size to play safety in the SEC, standing at 6’2″ and 190 pounds as a high school senior.

After moving to the Dallas area from Suffolk, VA, prior to the 2023 season, the talented defensive back recorded 68 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions and three pass breakups.

Bradley previously released a top-ranked list that included Texas Tech, Kansas State, Mississippi, Texas State, South Florida and Houston, and could modify his list with the Sooners’ recent offer.

One day after offering Bradley, Oklahoma extended an offer to the Cedar Hill (TX) athlete for 2027 Jalen Brewster.

Brewster, who is 6’4″ and 275 pounds, also has offers from Texas Tech, Baylor, Arizona State and others as a high school sophomore.
