Simpsonville man shot mom, grandmother before killing himself

Greenville County deputies suspect a man found dead in Simpsonville home shot his mother and grandmother.

Greenville Sheriff’s Office Lt. Ryan Flood told a caller reported a shooting at 549 North Harrison Bridge Road just after 8:50 pm Tuesday. Officers discovered the man, Thomas Charles Swigon II, 37, dead inside the home. The women were suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Greenville County Coroner’s office confirmed Swigon died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Flood would not release the identities of the women but said both were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

According to Flood, investigators determined Swigon lived in the home with the women and a family dispute led to the shooting.

An investigation continues, but Flood said the shooting was considered an isolated incident.
