Man arrested on drug charges

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – While conducting a traffic stop on Camargo Road, deputies said they found a large amount of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms in the possession of Michael Hickey, 45, of Morehead.

After an extensive search, officers found 27 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and seven grams of marijuana. Officers also found several drug-related items and $337 in cash.

Hickey was charged with:

• Trafficking in controlled substances – First degree (cocaine)
• Trafficking in controlled substances – First degree (unspecified drug)
• Driving a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance: second offense

Hickey was also charged with other unspecified misdemeanors.

He is being held at the Montgomery County Regional Jail.
