Summit County man arrested after barricading himself with others and firing a gun

COVENTRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – Summit County deputies say they responded to the 2900 block of Prior Road on Tuesday for calls about a dispute between a man and a woman.

The man began making threats, officers say, and fired shots inside the residence.

Officials identified the suspect as Steven Haines, 23.

Officers were able to negotiate with Haines and convince him to leave the residence without further incident.

Authorities say a woman and her children were evacuated from the residence.

Haines was charged with discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises and inducing panic and was transported to the Summit County Jail.
