New video shows suspects in an unsolved Bronx murder, police say. Victim’s loved ones still hold out hope

NEW YORK — A newly released video shows people wanted in connection with An unsolved murder in the Bronxthe police said.

Maria Rosado, a mother of three, was fatally shot while sitting in the driver’s seat of her car at the corner of East 170th Street and College Avenue on August 27, 2022. Her boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat, was also shot but survived.

“She was just helping her boyfriend and giving him a ride,” said the victim’s sister, Arlene Rosado.

On Tuesday, exactly two years after Rosado’s murder, the New York City Police Department released a video of suspects they say they would like to question in connection with the investigation.

A newly released video shows people wanted in connection with an unsolved murder in the Bronx, police said.

“I was devastated to see these people still out there, but I was so glad the NYPD didn’t give up,” said Rodney Byke, a childhood friend of Rosado’s.

“I’m happy that it’s still there, that it’s still getting recognition,” Arlene Rosado said.

Victim’s sister believes her boyfriend was the target of the 2022 deadly shooting

Arlene said her family has not spoken to the boyfriend Maria was with at the time, whom she calls Jose. She said he is now in prison for violating his parole. Arlene said Jose had been shot before the 2022 shooting that injured him and killed Maria. Arlene believes Jose was the intended target.

“I would like to talk to him to see if he can tell me something… It’s not easy. I miss her… She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She didn’t deserve to die the way she did,” Arlene Rosado said.

Maria Rosado left behind three children, who are now in the care of her ex-husband. Arlene said the children are doing well with their father, but they still feel the pain of losing their mother every day.

Maria’s sister is also still feeling the pain.

“It’s been two years. It’s like… I miss her. I miss hearing her voice. I miss spending time with her,” Arlene Rosado said.
