Israeli soldier kills disabled man near Tulkarem |


An Israeli sniper shot and killed a disabled Palestinian man on Wednesday while he was inside his home in the Nur Shams camp, east of Tulkarem in the northwestern part of the West Bank.

Media sources said that relatives found the disabled man’s body on Wednesday night. Ayed Mahmoud Nimer Abu Al-Haija64-year-old man, covered in blood inside his home in the Nur Shams refugee camp.
The sources added that the slain man had been shot with live ammunition by an Israeli gunman while in his own home and was only discovered after he had succumbed to his wounds.

It is important to mention that the occupation forces imposed a siege on the camp and prevented ambulance teams from reaching the murdered man; his body was later transported to the hospital.

Media sources said on Wednesday evening that the Israeli army continues to besiege the Nur Shams refugee camp, with more military reinforcements being added.

According to Nihad Al-Shawish, head of the services committee of Nur Shams camp, he told WAFA that Israeli military vehicles were present at all entrances to the camp and in several neighborhoods.

Al-Shawish added that soldiers raided and searched the homes of several citizens in many neighborhoods, accompanied by police dogs, detaining their owners and subjecting them to questioning.

He also said that the occupation forces besieged the homes of several citizens, seized them and turned them into military barracks, saying that the raid caused fear and terror among women and children in the camp.

Al-Shawish told WAFA that the army set up a field investigation center outside the Nur Shams refugee camp, where detainees were taken for interrogation.

A citizen of the camp and head of the Palestinian Prisoners Society in Tulkarem, Ibrahim al-Nimr, told WAFA that Israeli forces detained dozens of citizens, most of whom are young men, and transferred them to the field screening point at a commercial facility on the outskirts of the camp.
In related news, the young man was shot dead by the occupation forces, Mohamed Ibrahim Tawfiq Abed32 years old, in the town of Kafr Dan, northwest of Jenin, in the northern occupied West Bank.

Soldiers also shot a child with live ammunition in the town of Al-Yamoun, northwest of Jenin, in addition to shooting another child and a youth in the city of Jenin.

Before dawn on Wednesday, an Israeli drone strike wounded two Palestinians in the Nur Shams refugee camp, while a large army force, accompanied by four military bulldozers, invaded the town of Tulkarem.

Media sources said Israeli soldiers besieged hospitals, obstructed the work of ambulances and placed snipers near the Nur Shams refugee camp, while reconnaissance drones flew overhead.

Military bulldozers caused destruction to vital infrastructure in the city of Tulkarem, including roads and a water network.
