New York man charged with animal cruelty; police say he bit his pitbull’s face: report

A man has been charged with torturing and injuring an animal after he allegedly bit his pit bull’s face on the Upper East Side on Saturday night, the Daily News reported.

According to the report, Teixeria Jillian, 24, was arrested on East 86th Street near Lexington Avenue after witnesses told police they saw him bite the brown female pit bull and grab her by the ears until they bled around 7:15 p.m.

Jillian reportedly told responding officers that he bites the dog as a way to discipline her, the report said.

A witness told the News that the dog broke free from its leash and when Jillian finally caught up to it, it began “beating” her in front of shocked onlookers.

Police told the outlet that the dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment, while a Manhattan judge ordered Jillian held on $5,000 bail for the assault charge and $1 for biting the dog.
