Schuylkill inmate indicted for possession of a weapon, commonly known as a “shank” | Poconos and Coal Region

SCHUYLKILL CO., Pa. — Authorities report that a Schuylkill County inmate has been indicted for possession of a weapon.

The announcement comes from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Anthony Gilbert-Brown, 29, is incarcerated at FCI Schuylkill, in Minersville.

Gilbert-Brown was indicted Wednesday on the charge of possession of a weapon. Officials say he with possessing a prohibited object designed to be used as a weapon, commonly known as a “shank.”

The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is up to five years’ imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
