Destiny 2 will have a week-long sword event

Destiny 2 will add a week-long Swords event starting September 3, where heavy swords will have regenerating ammo across various activities.

Following the release of Episode Echoes Act 3, Bungie has announced a special event in Destiny 2 that will no doubt excite sword enthusiasts. Starting September 3, players will experience a unique twist to the game.

For a full week, all swords equipped in the heavy ammo slot will continuously regenerate ammo. This means that players can use their swords with almost unlimited power, slicing through enemies without the usual worry of running out of heavy ammo.

Destiny 2 Heavy Sword Event Detailed

In the weekly blog post, This Week in Destiny, Bungie has shared new details about the Heavy Sword event coming to Destiny 2. “Starting September 3, all swords in the Heavy ammo slot will regenerate ammo for a full week, until the reset on September 10,” the blog post reads.

However, to maintain balance, this event will not apply to “raids or competitive game modes.” Instead, the Heavy Sword event will be available in the following activities:

  • Seasonal Activities
  • Strikes
  • Dusk
  • Gambit
  • Crucible: Relic Mode
  • Lost Sectors (Legend and Master)

Bungie has also announced that there will be four seasonal challenges focused on getting sword kills in certain activities.

Destiny 2 is in full swing with Echoes Act 3, which launched this week. This new act continues the story of Maya Sundaresh. Additionally, players can now obtain two new legendary weapons: Speleologist (Solar Machine Gun) and Chronophage (Void Trace Rifle).

There’s also a new Exotic quest called Encore, which brings with it a new Exotic weapon, the Choir of One, which fires Wyvern bullets. If you want to know more about how to unlock this new weapon, we have a dedicated guide here.
