Travis Kelce got emotional listening to Adam Sandler discuss Bobby Boucher’s NFL career

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce kicked off a new season of their hit podcast New Heights This week interviewing one of his all-time heroes, comedian Adam Sandler.

The Kelce brothers closed out the podcast by posing a question they’d wanted to know for years: Was Bobby Boucher, Sandler’s character in the hit 1998 football comedy film, The water carrier—Will you ever make it to the NFL?

Sandler’s response, unsurprisingly, had both brothers laughing out loud.

“I think he did go to the NFL,” Sandler said. “He played a couple of years. His mom wanted him to stay home, so he spent a good two years with teams, saw things he probably shouldn’t have seen, things got a little crazy for Bobby at times, especially when they went to Vegas. And then he forced himself to go back to his mom. … He’s better off in the Bayou.”

“It’s a really cool story,” Kelce said, laughing out loud.

Although Sandler fans like Jason and Travis Kelce never got to enjoy a sequel to The water carrierThe comedian recently announced that he will be releasing Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix in the future. In fact, Travis Kelce will make a cameo in the film.

“Travis mentioned it, so we have something nice for Travis,” Sandler said in Tonight’s program Earlier this month, she said: “He’s coming. He’s a really nice guy, you guys would love him in real life. He’s a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and very funny.”

Although Boucher remains an NFL free agent, Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for their Week 1 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
