Visit to McElroy Truck Lines

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – Students in Meridian Community College’s commercial truck driving program took a field trip to McElroy Truck Lines. There, they learned more about the benefits of being a truck driver.

Although truck driving pays well, most people think it takes up all the time you spend with friends and family.

But in McElroy, they allow their drivers to come home on the weekend and spend time with their loved ones.

And with great pay and good hours, they train their drivers for 7 weeks.

It all starts at MCC Commercial Truck Driving, where they teach and prepare their students to receive their CDL.

“Today meant everything to me. To be honest, it was like I was in my first year of school. You know, I was excited. I couldn’t sleep because I was giving my students the opportunity to see a company and the company was basically opening its doors to them and saying, come see us when you graduate, we’re going to give you a chance.”
