KCPD identifies 2 women killed in head-on crash in Northland

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police have identified the two women killed in a head-on collision in Northland Sunday night.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said Amber Rainey, 36, and Christa Brodigan, 33, were killed Sunday, Sept. 1, in a head-on collision on Parvin Road.

The crash occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, when a silver Mitsubishi Outlander with two passengers under the age of 18 was speeding eastbound on Parvin Road when it crossed the double yellow line for unknown reasons. The Mitsubishi collided head-on with a blue Ford Transit van traveling westbound.

Police said Rainey was the driver of the Mitsubishi and died at the scene. Brodigan was the driver of the Ford and was taken to a hospital where she later died.

They were the 65th and 66th fatalities in accidents this year in Kansas City, Missouri.

Two juvenile passengers in the Mitsubishi were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
