Tallahassee Southside Farmers Market reopens after summer hiatus

Fresh fruits, vegetables and health and wellness screenings are available again at the Southside Farmers Market, which has reopened after a summer hiatus.

The market, created through a collaboration with the City of Tallahassee, local residents, community partners and healthcare providers, will be open every Thursday for the remainder of the year.

Those looking for fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and seafood from local farmers or even health screenings can head to the Walker-Ford Community Center, 2301 Pasco St., from 2 to 6 p.m.

The market, which opened in 2018, was created to alleviate food deserts in communities on Tallahassee’s south side. And after six visits, customers can even receive a free gift with their punch card. SNAP and EBT cards are accepted.
