A man was hit and killed overnight in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man is dead after being struck by an Infiniti Q50 Tuesday night in Nashville, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. in Midtown at West End Avenue and 17th Avenue.

Police said the Infiniti had a green light at the intersection when the driver said a man was in her lane and she was unable to avoid hitting him.

The man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.

MNPD said the medical examiner’s office is working to identify the deceased man.

The woman driving the Infiniti showed no signs of being intoxicated at the scene, police said.
