Tragedy strikes an Apalachee high school: a shooting at a Georgia school

A shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia left multiple people injured, prompting a lockdown and students gathering at the football stadium, according to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities have arrested one suspect and the response effort involves multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency services. Sheriff’s officials said that while casualties have been reported, details about the number and conditions of those injured are not yet available.

Helicopter footage from WSB-TV showed the significant presence of law enforcement and emergency vehicles around the school. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said all available state resources are being used to address the serious situation and urged citizens to pray for those affected.
