Maryland Weather: Good stretch with chance of rain Friday into Saturday

Baltimore – Pleasant weather will continue through Thursday. Showers are possible on Friday and steady rain is likely on Saturday.

We are in the midst of an exceptional weather pattern that will continue through Thursday. Temperatures reached the mid-70s Wednesday afternoon with comfortable humidity levels. High clouds are mainly south of Baltimore, so we have enjoyed mostly sunny skies.

We’re in for a fantastic evening with fantastic weather. If you’re attending the Os game tonight, expect mostly sunny weather for the first pitch at 6:35 p.m. against the White Sox. Temperatures will start out in the upper 70s, but then drop to the lower 70s by the end of the game.

Fall-like temperatures will return tonight, with lows in the mid-50s in most neighborhoods. The coolest overnight lows in the mid-50s will be in neighborhoods north and west of the Baltimore Beltway. Temperatures across the metro area will drop into the mid-50s. Scattered high, thin clouds will move southward overnight.

Humidity levels will gradually rise on Thursday, but we’ll still have a very pleasant day. High temperatures will climb into the 80s. Aside from a few scattered clouds, mostly sunny skies are expected.

Friday will see even more moisture in the air. With an east to southeast wind coming in off the ocean, areas of low clouds will be possible. As the atmosphere continues to moisten throughout the day on Friday, scattered showers will be possible. The greatest chance for this would be late Friday and into Friday night. While the rain will be light and scattered, you may want to bring a poncho or light rain jacket if you’re going to any high school football games on Friday night.

Scattered showers and drizzle are likely Friday night, with lows in the mid-60s.

Saturday will be our last really wet day for a while. Scattered areas of light rain and showers are expected during the morning and midday hours. There may be a break or two in the wet weather on Saturday, but a steadier round of showers, possibly a thunderstorm, will move through the area Saturday night into early Saturday evening. High temperatures on Saturday will reach the mid-70s. The cold front that is responsible for Saturday’s wet weather will clear out the clouds, showers, and humidity overnight on Saturday. Temperatures late Saturday night will drop to between 50 and 55 degrees!

Sunday will bring another beautiful autumnal feel. Morning temperatures will be around 10°C and highs around 21°C. We will enjoy plenty of sunshine and a pleasant northwesterly breeze at 16 km/h.

Next week will see more favorable weather and a gradual warming trend for much of the week. Highs will reach 70°F on Monday. Highs will climb to 80°F on Tuesday and Wednesday with plenty of sunshine and low humidity. We can expect another spectacular stretch of September weather for most of next week with little to no rain!
