Donald Trump reveals that Barron Trump will attend New York University

Former President Donald Trump announced that Barron Trump will attend New York University’s Stern School of Business in Manhattan this fall.

Barron Trump’s decision to attend New York University’s elite business school was confirmed by his father’s interview with the Daily Mailwhich was published on Wednesday. The former president’s son was seen arriving in New York City this week to begin his first semester.

The former president said Barron Trump is “a very smart guy” who decided on “Stern, the business school, which is a great school at NYU” after being accepted to “a lot of universities.”

The news came after Donald Trump noted that Barron Trump had made up his mind earlier this month during an interview with the The New York Post.

“He is in a school that is very good,” the former president said on August 20. “He has always been a very good student, he is intelligent.”

Barron Trump is the only child of the former president and his wife, Melania Trump. He is the youngest son of Donald Trump, after Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump with his first wife, Ivana Trump, and his youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, with his second wife, Marla Maples.

“He’s not a kid anymore. He’s just moved on to something more than a kid,” the former president said of 18-year-old Barron Trump entering college. “He’s doing very well.”

Barron Trump’s enrollment at New York University marks a departure from the family tradition of attending the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. His father and Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump, his half-siblings, attended Wharton. Barron Trump’s half-sister, Tiffany Trump, also attended UPenn.

“I went to Wharton, and that was certainly an option we were considering,” Donald Trump mused. “We didn’t. We went to Stern.”

The former president appeared to endorse his youngest son’s pioneering initiative during his final remarks.

“It’s a very high-quality place,” Donald Trump said of the university Barron Trump chose. “He liked the school. We like NYU. I’ve known NYU for a long time. But it’s one of the top-rated schools.”

Barron Trump is rarely seen on the campaign trail with his father, but he received a standing ovation when he made an appearance at a rally in Florida in July.

The former president has credited Barron Trump for helping to promote his presidential campaign to new, younger audiences through a series of recent podcast appearances and interviews with influencers.

“Tell Barron I appreciate him,” Gen Z influencer Theo Von told Donald Trump at the end of a lengthy interview with the former president last week.

His comments came after the former president told Von, “My son is a big fan of yours,” at the start of their conversation.

Von has more than 7 million followers on Instagram. The influencer’s post about his conversation with Donald Trump on X reached nearly 42 million views on the social media platform.

Last week, the former president continued to say that his youngest son was instrumental in expanding his base and achieving “tremendous success” in his campaign.

“Adin Ross, you know, I mean I know some people that I wasn’t that familiar with, from different generations. He knows them all,” Donald Trump said while praising Barron Trump for exposing him to the influencer. “He knows a lot about that,” the former president said.
