Man exposes himself to jogger on popular Portland trail

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Police are searching for a man they say exposed himself to a jogger on the Springwater Corridor Trail on Wednesday.

According to a police statement, the incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m.

Officers responded to the scene near Southeast Johnson Creek Boulevard and Southeast Brookside Drive and encountered a woman who said she was jogging when a man on a bicycle passed her and jumped into the bushes further down the trail. According to the woman, as she approached that area, the man emerged from the bushes naked, with his hand on his genitals, and tried to grab her.

She ran away and called for help.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. They described him as a white male in his 30s, approximately 1.70m tall, with a shaved head. He was wearing all black clothing and riding a bicycle with two backpacks.

The trail follows a former railway line from Boring through Gresham to Portland, where it ends south of Eastbank Esplanade.
