Owl released from dumpster and ‘left to die’

A tawny owl found abandoned in a bin has been released into the woods after a wildlife charity nursed it back to health.

The owl was starving, severely dehydrated and had a fractured wing when it was found by a passerby near Ringwood, Hampshire.

He was taken to a nearby vet “dripping with smelly waste”, before going to Wildlife Rescue – Moyles Court.

The wildlife charity said the owl had been “left to die” in the bin.

After having his broken wing repaired at the charity’s hospital, the owl received specialist treatment, nursing and rehabilitation.

Once strong and able to fly, the owl, which is about the size of a pigeon, was released by the wildlife charity into the woods where it was found.
