Man arrested in deadly stabbing in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing that occurred in New Haven in July.

New Haven police announced Wednesday that they have arrested Thomas Norfleet, 36, in the death of Shamar Gibson, 26.

The stabbing occurred on July 6.

According to police, Gibson was admitted to St. Raphael Hospital after the incident, but died there from his injuries.

Police said they planned to release new details about the killing at a news conference Thursday.

They said Gibson’s family would be there.

It was scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
