Former Pawtucket corrections officer charged with sexual assault at Framingham prison

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — A Pawtucket man has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a female inmate at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution in Framingham.

According to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan, Gomes has been charged with four counts of rape and three counts of indecent assault and battery for multiple incidents involving a female inmate.

Gomes was also charged with three counts of delivery of articles to prisoners in a correctional institution, for allegedly purchasing underwear for more than one inmate.

Gomes was working as a prison officer at the time.

He was arrested yesterday at his home.

No trial date has been announced.
