Former senator launches six-figure ad campaign against Fani Willis ahead of Georgia election

FIRST ON FOX: Former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s super PAC has launched a six-figure ad campaign that the PAC says is aimed at exposing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ “failures” ahead of the November election.

The $100,000 advertising campaign, launched by Greater Georgia on Thursday, will include digital ads, direct mail and text messages, all of which will run over the next nine weeks and reach Atlanta-area voters ahead of the Nov. 5 election, the group said.

The ad, titled “Failed,” will air on streaming services and programmatic outlets including Fox News, CNN, WSB-TV, Hulu, Roku and Fubo.

“Under Fani Willis’ watch, dangerous crime is everywhere in Fulton County: murders, rapes and robberies are on the rise,” the ad reads.

“She is focused on herself, her political ambitions, high-profile prosecutions, and profiting from partisan fighting, all at the expense of families living in fear and innocent lives lost. We deserve a district attorney who will do the job of keeping us safe,” the ad reads.

The campaign denounces the rise in homicides in Fulton County under Willis, his “waste” of taxpayer funds “and exploitation of court cases,” and his “pursuit of personal ambition over public safety to advance his political career and celebrity.”

Willis did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Willis, who will face a Republican candidate for office in November, rose to national prominence after impeaching former President Donald Trump last year on sweeping racketeering charges.

Earlier this year, Trump and other defendants argued that Willis should be disqualified from the case after it was revealed she was having an “improper” relationship with Nathan Wade, whom she hired as a special prosecutor.

The case to disqualify Willis will be heard in December in the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Greater Georgia said that since Willis was elected, homicides increased 8% in Fulton County from 2021 to 2022, and since 2023, homicides have increased 13% in Atlanta. In 2023, 13,787 people were arrested for felonies but never charged. At the end of 2023, the district attorney’s office still had a backlog of 11,700 uncharged cases, the group said.

Greater Georgia also stated that of the criminals who have been charged, many have committed more crimes while awaiting trial.

The group noted that in 2021, Willis was charged with misappropriating $488,000 in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and was subsequently subpoenaed over the allegations by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee.

Separately, members of the U.S. Senate have launched an investigation into Willis over allegations that he misused $2 million in Justice Department funds intended to resolve sexual assault cases.

“Fani Willis had one job when voters elected her in 2020: put criminals behind bars and protect Fulton County families. Instead, she has spent the last four years focused solely on pursuing vanity cases instead of criminals in an attempt to increase her celebrity, line her pockets and fuel her political ambitions,” Loeffler said.

“Under her watch, prosecutions have declined, crime has increased, and more citizens have become victims, denied justice because she is too distracted and too incompetent to deliver it. Fani Willis is a profound embarrassment to the state of Georgia, a threat to public safety, and the top local official who must be removed in November to put Georgia back in order,” he said.
