Mt. Pleasant police arrest man accused of stealing cars

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) – The Mount Pleasant Police Department arrested a man after he was caught trying to break into cars.

Charles Huntington Dusenbury, 28, is charged with four counts of motor vehicle trespassing, according to jail records.

Mount Pleasant Police Department officers were called to the Camfield Lane area around 12 a.m. after a person reported seeing a man pulling on car door handles, police spokesman Sgt. Ashley Croy said.

When police found Dusenbury, he chased them on foot until they arrested him. Croy said Dusenbury lied about why he was in the area.

Surveillance video from the area confirmed that Dusenbury was in the area and changed his clothing from what the officer originally saw him wearing.

Dusenbury was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center on $8,000 bail.
