Florida man goes shopping at Waldo’s Farmers and Flea Market

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – For over fifty years, the Waldo Farmer’s and Flea Market has been a community trading post that draws people from all over North Central Florida. We’re talking over 300 booths with the widest variety of products. The market’s new owner, Tim Toomey, has made great improvements since taking over.

“We’ve done some electrical work and painting. We’ve basically tried to spruce this place up. We’ve cleaned up everything that was here, we just want to make it look nice and presentable to the community again,” said Andrew Hughes, Waldo’s director of operations.

The best time to go to the market is early if you want to see the new items for the first time. The market has a wide range of collectibles such as action figures, Pokemon cards, and check out this cool Michael Jordan cleat set, which I purchased. There is also a wide variety of fresh produce delivered daily. If you need something fixed, Toomey Tools, owned by Tim Toomey, has been in the market since 1981. When it comes to food, they have you covered with classic treats. The friendly staff has a message for people thinking of stopping by.

“Come to the market, enjoy yourself and have a good time, I hope to see you here.”

You never know what you might find at each stand you search, Waldo Farmer’s and Flea Market has something for everyone.
