Isaiah Likely and Lamar Jackson react to the final play against the Chiefs

The Ravens were millimeters away from potentially starting the season 1-0.

In Thursday night’s opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Jackson found Isaiah Likely in the back of the end zone with no time remaining for what was originally ruled a touchdown. However, upon automatic review, Likely’s big toe was just out of bounds.

Had the Ravens been a little smaller on their feet, they would have been a point behind and likely attempted a two-point conversion with a chance to beat the back-to-back Super Bowl champions in their home stadium. Instead, it was a heartbreaking start to the season.

“You have to live with that calling,” Likely said.

“That’s my fault. I just have to keep my feet on the ground. I force myself to take everything in and make sure that we’re all put in the best possible situation, so I take responsibility. Next time, I’m going to keep my feet on the ground.”

Jackson isn’t so sure Likely didn’t do it.

“I thought it was a touchdown,” Jackson said. “I still think it’s a touchdown.”
