Why you should answer phone calls while Salina USD 305 seeks your opinion

Salina Public Schools is seeking feedback from the community about the district and wants to make sure people know the efforts are not a phone scam.

According to USD 305, a comprehensive customer feedback survey will be launched with phone calls to residents to ask about the district’s strengths, challenges and other important issues.

Salina School District 305 is conducting a community opinion survey on what users think of the district, with phone calls made by a research firm.

“This survey allows us to get feedback from a variety of stakeholders on our performance and a variety of issues,” said Superintendent Linn Exline. “We will be gathering input from all parts of the district, from all age groups, from newcomers to long-term residents.”

The district said the survey is designed by ExcellenceK12, a Kansas City-based market research firm that has worked with school districts across the Midwest, and will be conducted by Market Research Associates, a Kansas City firm that “uses only professional researchers.”

According to the district, participants will be selected at random and all responses will remain confidential.

The district said the survey process is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, so it is asking users to be alert for when their phones ring.

“Generally, calls will be placed between 7 and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and between noon and 6 p.m. on Saturday,” the district said. “Caller ID may display Market Research Associates, or it may simply display an 816 or 913 area code, because the company uses calling facilities in both Missouri and Kansas.”

Those not randomly contacted by phone will be able to complete an online version of the survey that will be available on the district’s website, www.usd305.com, from Sept. 7 through midnight Sept. 21.

“We are grateful to be part of a community that truly values education,” says Exline. “If you are contacted for the survey, please take a moment to respond and share your thoughts.”
