Man slams Burger King for mouldy bun. Shocking, according to Zomato

A Delhi journalist was in for a surprise after receiving a mouldy burger from Burger King that he had ordered through Zomato.

Yaman Dev Sharma’s post prompted a response from the company after he criticised Burger King on X. In his post, Sharma said that he had placed an order for a ‘Veg Whopper’ burger without fries.

When Sharma removed the paper wrapping from the burger, he discovered that the bun was covered in a layer of mould.

“I placed an order from Burger King via Zomato. After finishing the fries, I opened the burger (Veg Whopper). Today I came to know that they have launched a new flavour without mould with burger bun,” reads Sharma’s post, translated from Hindi to English.

She also tagged Zomato and Burger King India’s X accounts in her post.

Burger King India responded to Sharma’s post and asked him to share details. “Hi Yaman, we never intended to provide such an experience. Can you please DM us your contact number, store location, order ID and email ID so that we can get back to you. Rest assured, we will look into this thoroughly,” the company said.

Zomato Care, the official customer care account of the food delivery company, called the incident “shocking” in a post in Hindi.

Several social media users slammed Burger King India in the comments section of the post for delivering food in unhygienic conditions. Once again, this incident highlights the critical need for strict quality control and better food safety practices in the fast food industry.
