Wordle Analysis

Every day I check Wordle Bot to help me analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

Well, this one hurts. Such is life. SHAME was pretty embarrassing, with 470 solutions left and one measly yellow box. I’m not really sure why I guessed ELDER next, except that I’ve been playing around a bit. Elden Ring . . . but it didn’t do me much good as I was left with 29 words and two yellow squares. BOINK was my attempt to try out all new letters (on bet 3!) and gave me only one more yellow square. At this point, I could think of two words and since I prefer the color GREEN to most others, I made a poor choice. RERUN was the Wordle. On bet #5.

Wordle Competitive Score

I lose 1 point for guessing in five and 1 more point for losing to the bot. -2 points and on a 2XP Friday that means -4! Oh, the humanity! Oh, poor me!

How to play competitive Wordle

  • Guessing 1 is worth 3 points; guessing 2 is worth 2 points; guessing 3 is worth 1 point; guessing 4 is worth 0 points; guessing 5 is worth -1 point; guessing 6 is worth -2 points and missing the Wordle is worth -3 points.
  • If you beat your opponent, you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add them up to get your score. Keep track of your score daily or just play to get a new score every day.
  • Fridays are 2XP, which means you double your points, positive or negative.
  • You can keep track of your results or just play day by day. Enjoy!

Etymology of today’s Wordle

The word “repetition” It originates from two components: the prefix “re-“which means “again”, and the verb “run”meaning to show or represent. The combination literally means “to perform again,” referring to something being broadcast or represented a second time.

The term “rerun” became commonly associated with television in the 1950s and 1960s, when networks began showing repeats of television programs that had already aired, usually in the off-season or to fill time slots. The word can also be used more broadly to describe a repeat of any event or action.
